SUMMARY

Running Time: 103 m.

The caserío, or Basque farm, represents a bygone world, a way of life, wisdom and values, something which is disappearing before our very eyes. The caserío means the family, a clan that has its roots in the deepest knowledge passed down through the years. The family is the place where two worlds collide, where the link between parents and children is broken. Tomas and Isabel suffer the conflict between the old world and the new. How to live in the city without turning their back on the caserío, how to rid themselves of the caserío without breaking the chain of knowledge, how to choose their path without betraying their forebears? Amaia tackles the two worlds living within her through art. To find her way she must leave the caserío, stand up to her father, cause wounds and break the link. She can only make headway if she finds a way to coexist with the inheritance of her predecessors. Meanwhile, the grandmother watches them all. As if her eyes were making sense of that mutation between the end of one world and the new one that seems to be taking shape.
